Library and Flickr

A great way to utilize Flickr could be when the library or a department in the library is in the process of finding new office furniture to replace old outdated furniture. Not all staff would be able to make a site visit to a store location and pictures in catalogues just don't suffice. Staff could view pictures online, maybe even 3D ones, or take virtual tours of the store. Staff could search for their own individual office space layouts that conform to their own needs.

--I am not a librarian, but my job is cataloguing a variety of materials and linking items to records in our database. I also have to search outside databases for catalogue records. Any new information and/or questions I might have regarding cataloguing/finding bibliographic records would be a great asset in performing my job.

just checking to see if it really works and I did really post my first blog!

Why participate?

I'd like to learn more about the web and what to do with it. I don't know how much time I'll have to sit down, spend time at it, but it is the way of the future and the older I get the less time I have to find out new things. Plus, the incentive of an MP3 player was the catch for me. I need find out how to download some music to go with my exercist routine-no cds have all the music I want to listen to while I exercise and a personal cd player is too cumbersome to exercise with. If I can learn a little more about the web and all its uses for me, then I might just spend a little more time on the computer with stuff other than regular emails and work related stuff. That's all for my first ever blog-my daughter will be so proud of mom.
